The following certifications are aligned with our Medical Billing, Insurance, CPC Coding & EHR w/ICD-10 course.  Graduates of this program are eligible to sit for the below optional certification exams.  Certified coders are more recession proof than those without certifications.  Multiple specialty credentials not only improve your career opportunities, but your salary potential as well.

Certified Professional Coder (CPC)

The American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) was founded in 1988 to provide education and professional certification to physician-based medical coders and to elevate the standards of medical coding by providing training, certification, ongoing education, networking and job opportunities. Currently, the AAPC has a membership base of 138,000 worldwide, of which more than 95,000 are certified. AAPC credentialed coders have proven mastery of all code sets, Evaluation and Management principles and documentation guidelines. CPC’s and other AAPC credentialed coders represent the best in outpatient coding.

AAPC certifications encompass the physician office, as well as other certifications. All certifications provide a working knowledge to support cleaner claim submission, resulting in more accurate coding, faster reimbursement and fewer denials. The AAPC offers continuing education through local chapters, workshops, monthly newsmagazine (Coding Edge), publications and conferences.

AAPC educational offerings cover both pre-certification needs and post-certification CEU requirements.  For more information about the AAPC, please click here.

Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA)

Certified Electronic Health Record Specialist (CEHRS)

The National Healthcareer Association (NHA), established in 1989, has become the largest career certification provider with over 400,000 certified allied healthcare professionals. The NHA is currently working with over 1,300 educational institutions throughout the country in curriculum development, competency testing, and preparation for national certification exams.

The NHA exams exceed all certification and industry standards for reliability, validity, and competency, making the NHA "The Benchmark in Allied Healthcare Certification." The NHA exams proudly promote the use of "psychometrics", which are the most up-to-date principles for the exam development process.

All NHA exams are given on site.  We use computerized testing so students don't have to wait up to a month to receive their test results, they receive them immediately. From that point on, all employers are aware of that graduate's certified status.  For information, please click here.
